Lav Games Portfolio Materials
Recently i had the opportunity to create two materials for propping the online portfolio of Lav Games. They are an up-and-coming outsourcing company that i've done a lot of work for during the past 2+ years. It was a good exercise doing something that was a little more elaborate then the regular production work.
Clock Face
To create the roman numerals text inputs were used with a serif font. They were then fed into splatter circular nodes and combined. To get the more circular and realistic serifs a mix of blends with disc shapes and edge detects were used.
For the hour and minute hands the new spline tools in Substance 3D Designer were used.
The elaborate patterns were also created with the help of the new spline tools in Substance 3D Designer. The graph looks quite complex and intimidating but it really was just a case of copy pasting and appending splines then moving vertices around.
Coins
Inside Substance 3D Designer the coins were first created in individual graphs, four versions - a new and and an older coin each with a heads and tails side. To create the tiling material they were then layered and assembled in a new graph with Shape Spla
